These Islands Are 4 km Apart and a Day Apart

Big Diomede (Russia) and Little Diomede (USA) are about 3.8 km apart, but the border and the International Date Line run between them. In winter, Big Diomede is 21 hours ahead (20 in summer), hence the nicknames Tomorrow Island and Yesterday Isle.
