Nº 005 Why does this exist?
The Only Land on Earth No Country Wants
Bir Tawil is 2,060 km² between Egypt and Sudan that neither country claims. Two border lines exist (1899 and 1902), and each country's preferred line hands it the far bigger, coastal Halaib Triangle. Claiming Bir Tawil would mean accepting the line that loses Halaib.
